ACU/FSRA Super F2 Sidecar Championship. (Final Round) Mallory 15th October.
Going into the final round after the very disappointing Snetterton in 5th position in the series spurred Roy and Dave to give it everything.
Billed as Race of the Year Meeting, running with some of the BSB solo teams meant larger than normal crowds and a longer race. 20 laps to be precise.
With Norbury/Wilson already crowned, who was going to wrap up 2nd in the series.
Any one of 4 teams could do it.
Neary/Hallam or Connole/Winn or Holden/Winkle or even Roy and Dave.
With Neary in trouble with brakes after 8 laps the fight for 2nd in the race and series centred around Connole/Winn and Roy/Dave.
On the 15th lap Roy and Dave finally wore down Connole and drew away to take 2nd in the race, and 3rd in the Championship.
The bike was flying like its old self, which is a shame as that was its LAST race.

Work will start next week to fit GSXR 600 K6 engines into the Moly.

What do we know about fuel injection……………………..NOTHING.

Should be an interesting winter.

Festival of Sidecars, Mallory Park, 1st Oct.

At last some luck, at Darley last week the bike suddenly refused to start in the start enclosure. By the time Roy had found the "problem" (intermittent failure of the kill-switch), the race had started. Now with a new kill-switch fitted for the Festival we were holding our breath.
It was a wet day, drying then wetting again, but Roy and Dave mindful of their Oulton tyre choices were more active.
A heat win and A final win then 3rd against the F1's in The Dave Roberts race, when it just wasn't quite wet enough, showed that they had got to grips with the wheel swapping.
For the last race, the Kevin Lowdnes Handicap, they keen as mustard made a last minute wheel change, only to loose their sidecar wheel at the hair-pin on the second lap.
BUT at least the bike was flying ready for the final round of the Championship at Mallory on 15th October…………….BE THERE.

ACU/FSRA Super F2 Championship, Snetterton 2/3 Sept.
Over the 2 days are 4 races, and as current lap record holders (1:14.45 from 23/07/05) Roy and Dave were looking to make up some lost ground.
Sadly the "misfire" once again reared its ugly head. Its intermittent and therefore very difficult to trace when back in the paddock and purring on 4 cylinders.
Over the two days they had 4th/5th and 5th/5th. Very frustrating.

ACU/FSRA Super F2 Championship, Oulton Park, 19th Aug.
A rainy Saturday with drying and wetting track did nothing to help the choice of tyres for the sidecar race.
Roy and Dave in what has become their Achilles heel of never having the right tyres on, or the will to change them at the last minute, unbelievably did the race with a wet front, inter rear and slick sidecar. I (Norman) would like to say that I was not there.
Considering their tyre choice finishing the race in very wet conditions in 4th position was nothing short of masterly.

ACU/FSRA Super F2 Championship Croft, 29/30th July.
Never a great liker of Croft (unlike Tom), Roy and Dave managed to qualify in 5th position.
There were 3 races over the two days, 2 on Saturday and 1 on Sunday.
In race 1 on the second lap the connectors on the back of the kill-switch broke off causing retirement.
In race 2 they ended 5th in a close knit bunch.
On Sunday knowing they had to make "progress" in bunches they finished 3rd.
